"An exciting and delicate book, subtle and tense... from clipped staccato abbreviations of social moments to more ruminative poems, the cycle induces and seduces the reader in its very particular own world. Once read, never forgotten."
Tom Shapcott
About Vapour Trails
Crumple-softened papers collected over the years, stuffed under the singlet for warmth while the rest blow away in the pre-dawn chill. These ones are elemental.
The debut collection. The first slim volume. Something to be very excited about. I wrote this one over years and years, somewhere between desperation and the thrill of discovery, with no destination in mind.

In Praise of the Slim Volume
I’ve recently been informed I’m obsessed with slim volumes. I didn’t realise it had become that bad. Or at least, that obvious. I thought I was hiding the more obvious signs of my SV fetish.
But I do. I love the SV. The sheer non-weight of them, the complete absence of gold embossing, and the thought that they’re yours to be had in a sitting. A short trip, to pull you in completely. The good ones, I’m talking about here. Only the good ones. And really, the definition of SV includes a stipulation that the contents be fantastic and the cover be beautiful, and the reader will be compelled to caress. Anything less than that, and you’re just dealing with a small book. SB. Hardly a twitch is there? Hardly a shiver down the spine? SVs. Mmmmmmm.....
