october - ‘ocean, sea’ – that’s all i’m going to say. alessandro baricco. after reading ‘silk’ a few years ago and being stunned at its pure poetic story telling (as exemplary a slim volume as ever there be), i find this one. so so good when a writer can do it well again...

august – no cutting, no switching, no saving. 6.11 a.m. lying under a tree in central park, being shouted at by the authority, who’s telling us what we can’t do if we want to stay in line for free tickets to see brecht’s mother courage at the delacorte theater. and no, i did not cut/switch/save, and yes, it was worth it. meryl streep. wowz.
july – there is a ‘walt whitman shopping mall’ on long island. it's true. i went there.

september - colours coming
the stink of summer retreats while the 'fall' starts falling. beautiful. biggest news is a confirmed release date for nine hours north (aka GAVN). feb 2006. my letter box fills with sample page layouts and drafts of the cover. very exciting...
august - (re)location location
new york is the now.now is new york. as of this now, i'm relocated, dislocated from oz, disjointed in usa. here i am. the empire is building, the trumps are towering, the diner coffee is bad but in keeping. here i am. central park for sanity, book shops for the words and the dust, fresh lychees from chinatown for passing mouth to mouth...
